The ultimate Christmas crafting presents

Here at the Coastal Craft Collective, we really care about gifting! We know how special it can be to gift (or be gifted) something unique, something well-thought-out, and something really specific and personal to the recipient. This time of year gives us a great excuse to show those we love just how much we care about them.

But wow, what a high standard to try to meet! It’s not always easy to find the ideal gift, and some people are harder to buy for than others.

That’s why we’ve collated a list of Christmas crafting presents from our range, to give you plenty of food for thought for all the potential gifts perfect for your nearest and dearest - as well as a few sneaky ways to deck your own halls!

The gift of some crafty coaching

Time to yourself can be a really special gift around Christmas, when we are all running about hectically! Choose from our selection of workshops, for adults and children, or gift a voucher so your loved one can decide for themselves what tickles their fancy. From a Two Colour Lino Printing Workshop to Lampshade Making to Children’s Jewellery Making, there’s a class for everyone.

A little something special

Sometimes a festive find is so special because it’s purely decorative. We love those sorts of gifts; the ones we don’t often buy for ourselves, because they are sheer beautiful indulgence. Angela Wallwork’s ceramic wall art falls into this category - her bee hangings are beautiful, and would make the most beautiful addition to a bedroom wall or special nook, year-round. Her Christmas ceramics are equally special, though - we especially love her boat-shaped festive “peace” hangings, for a subtle festive coastal reminder.

A new take on Christmas Decorations

Decking the Halls takes on a new perspective as we look to be greener and more sustainable every year. Get rid of single-use bunting and opt for this wonderful ceramic bunting, handmade and in a variety of different lengths and designs. It’s perfect for brightening up windows, garlanding fireplaces or even decking your tree with.

These gorgeous felt Christmas decorations come in a range of adorable designs - from the classic angel and snowman to the more quirky festive lobster or Christmas cricket. Who could say no to an adorable new adornment for the Christmas tree, mantlepiece, or window latch?

Jolly Jewellery

A brilliant prezzie for anyone with pierced ears, this selection of earrings are made by young artist Erin Welsh in nearby Seaton. All either silver- or gold-plated, hypoallergenic and lead- and nickel-free, these earrings suit everyone. Choose from a vast array of festive colours and designs, from green and gold Christmas tree beads made from Czech glass to blue and white snowflakes made from 18k gold-plated cubic zirconia.

Scent the Scene

Our range of Kilimanjaro candles make a wonderfully indulgent Christmas gift (or treat for yourself). These hand-poured soy candles come in fragrances ranging from the rich and festive Pomegranate, Mandarin and Amber to romantic Champagne and Roses to the wonderfully-scented but humourously named best-seller “Monkey Farts”, which has top notes of banana and pear, mid notes of citrus, coconut and jasmine, and base notes of musk and vanilla.

If you’re looking for a scent that matches the occasion, then opt either for the Christmas Tree Candle or the Cosy Christmas candle to really set the mood on the holiday evenings. Or perhaps your recipient has a young child or pet and may be concerned about naked flames? Kilimanjaro also offer a line of reed diffusers that can continue filling any home with beautiful aromas all day long.

Ideal gifts for the crafty creative

Anyone creative loves the opportunity to make - and our Corinne Lapierre applique kits provide everything you need to enable them to do just that. With both festive and year-round appropriate designs, these kits include a pattern, full-scale templates, top-quality wool mix, soft felt and the embroidery hoop that the crafter can use to frame the design once complete! Choose from the beautiful naive toadstool scene, a mousy Christmas, a cheery robin, a folksy wild hare and a dawn chorus of birds - each has its own unique charm.

Invest in sophisticated silverware

Sophie May jewellery is a gift to treasure. Some of her pieces include a birthstone, perfect for a truly special Happy Birthday gift, whilst others such as the Bee bracelet or the rose gold crescent moon pendant necklace are fine, delicate gifts for any and all occasions - a really lovely piece to discover beneath the tree!

Similarly, our Blue Lily earrings are simple and sophisticated. We love the subtle sheen of the abalone round and oval drop earrings, and the subtle coastal reminder of the beautifully simple sterling silver starfish studs.

Gaze at glorious glazing

A festive design from our Devon Glass Studio is a brilliant gift which can be used for decoration time and time again. Choose from a glorious selection of festive designs, from the robin to the holly to the Christmas tree to the mistletoe - and if you just can’t decide, be sure that these individually handmade, copper-soldered glass pieces make an absolutely fabulous set. Especially alongside Christmas fairy lights, these pieces with their green and red glazing sparkle wonderfully and really capture that Christmas magic.

Creative ideas for the crafty kids

Kids often end up sitting in front of screens these days, and sparkly new Christmas technology is no exception to that rule. Add hours of screen-free calm time with these awesome colouring projects from Eggnog.  Whether you choose a book of cards to colour in (a great way to get those thank yous done!), a tablecloth-size poster, a placemat or even a pillowcase, children and adults alike will have hours of fun colouring in these designs.

Going for Christmas cards galore

A lovely set to gift, or to keep for your own supplies - it’s always useful to have some beautiful cards to hand. The Whistlefish 100% recyclable, naked Christmas cards feature beautiful snowy scenes and festive animalswith absolutely no plastic included in the packaging, whilst Richard Woodgate’s original cards capture coastal scenes in either watercolour or acrylic - a card and a piece of art to keep in one.

Pam Peters’ cards again combine a card with a keepsake, as her fun festive cards come adorned with a fused glass Christmas decoration, from elves to Christmas trees to gonks.

Gift non-Christmassy cards for the coming year with sustainability in mind by choosing Carla Beckman’s Handmade Greetings Cards. This line features many gorgeous, whimsical scenes that are the perfect for any occasion, with a loving handmade touch that shines through in the beauty of the artwork.

Wrapping up wonderfully warm

Help your loved ones wrap up in style with the gift of some winter-warming accessories. These fleece-lined sheep’s wool wrist warmers come in all sorts of colours, making wrapping up for a walk a stylish event! Match them with a fleece-lined sheep’s wool headband for the ultimate in frosty fashion, or keep with more of a city style by opting for these elegant faux suede gloves

Opt for some original art

Are you looking for a truly special gift for a loved one, to remind them of a beloved coastal retreat? If so, Matthew Adkins’ glasswork may be the piece you’ve been looking for. Matthew’s glass relief wave art pieces are individually handmade pieces of art to treasure forever, whether you opt for his sizeable framed “Toe Tickling Tide” piece or one of his beautiful unframed ammonite panels

Anna Andrews’ nautical, local themed prints, meanwhile, are a more affordable way to bring art into your home or give it as a gift. Her shipping forecast prints, and colourful fish prints would be a great, on-trend way to bring a fun piece of art into the house, perfect for any bathroom or kitchen.

Hampers - A one-of-a-kind gift selection

Why not build your own hamper, for a truly curated selection of gifts? Spend over £25 and the hamper itself is free, too. Kick off by adding a taste of Seaton with a jar of one of our locally made jams or preserves, or add a little sweetness with our glorious local honey. Our West Country clotted cream fudge is the perfect indulgent treat for this time of year, as is our clotted cream shortbread.  Some Devon honey soap is a Christmas favourite, as is our Ocean Treasures wax melts. Bring back the bees by adding one of our Beebombs, full of wildflower seeds designated “Perfect for Pollinators”, sifted soil and locally-sourced clay. Add a festive fragrance with a beautifully scented candle in a tin, a bag of festive orange potpourri, or Winter scene tealight holder, for the ultimate collection of festive gifts for a loved one.

Whoever you are looking to spoil this Christmas, and whether with just a little something thoughtful or a big one-of-a-kind gift, you will be able to find something for everyone from Coastal Craft Collective to fit the bill. Happy gifting!
